Crossbridge Joins GCA on Medical Mission to Haiti
We are sending a medical mission to Haiti from Wednesday, June 16th to Sunday, June 20th in conjunction with the Great Commission Alliance. We will operate and staff a medical and dental clinic for refugees from the earthquake in a town called Mirebalais about an hour outside Port au Prince. We will be accompanying a medical team comprised of 9 medical professionals who are volunteering their time and bringing supplies.
Our job is to staff the clinic with 10 volunteers. Housing, transportation and meals will be provided by the Great Commission Alliance for a flat cost of $450 per person. Everyone pays their own air fare. See Jay Reynardus for more information. To learn more about the GCA go to www.gcanet.org.
Please send me a phone number to call to discuss Haiti missions. I am a pediatrician and would like to volunteer. Thanks.

I doubt it but where’s the orphanage? We’re not going to be in PAP. We’re going to a town called Mirebalais to open and staff a health/dental clinic. We don’t expect to have any free time at all.

Last night we held an information dinner to introduce the Haiti Missions team members and discuss next steps. Thanks to the Kendall Community Group for hosting the event and to Chris Barosso for set up. Let me summarize, 1) Air fare – we have 6 team members paid up and ready to go; we have 11 more team members committed to going with air fare under contract for 10 (we will add additional seats on Monday for 3 more people); if you are sure you want to go and have not let us know, please do it immediately by posting a reply to this string (a $100 deposit is due this week for each ticket and your name as it appears on your passport). 2) Medical supplies – the Dr’s going on the trip are going to canvass their colleagues over the next few days to determine what supplies we should be collecting for the clinic. We will contact the GCA this week to determine what supplies they will have in stock for us when we get there. Can someone look into obtaining newly expired supplies from the hospitals where they do rounds? 3) Fund raising – We will be trying to set up process to facilitate electronic donations linked to this page so we can e-mail friends and family to raise support. In the interim, checks can be submitted to Crossbridge Church with Haiti Missions in the memo section. 4) We have 2 more spots on the team available. If you indicated you were still considering going, now is the time to decide. Please be in prayer. Peace.
Hi Jay
I hope it’s not too late. Where can I get more information for this trip? Thank you for your time.
I just graduated from FIU nursing and I was actually researching on doing a missionary trip this summer
Vanessa
Please call me tomorrow 786-973-0733 in the morning and we can talk about the trip.
Did you call me? Space is going quick.
Online giving; great stuff — thx Raul for making this possible. Everyone’s “unexcused” now
Dear Marcus,
Yesterday I was with Dr. Mahanes from PBAU who asked to be remembered to you. He likes you very much and remembers you with fondness from your days in school. We were at Dr. Buz McNutt’s installation as new pastor of Boynton’s First Baptist. It was good to see you briefly last week. Blessings, Synesio
OK team, heads up. You have 10 days left to get your air fare in. You can either submit paper checks on Sunday. Remember to put Haiti in the memo. Or you can pay on-line with a credit card using the donate button above. The cost is $360 per person. I’m tracking donations, so if you are fund-raising, let me know.
OK – team. We have a solid connection to purchase meds at bottom basement prices so keep approaching family and friends for donations. We need about $2000 for supplies/meds. And don’t forget your $450 payment for room & board is coming up. Due on June 6, 2010 but please don’t wait until the last moment.
One last thought. I know each of you want’s this trip to bear much fruit – right? – John 15:5 Jesus says, “I am the vine, you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” Have you been meeting with Jesus in private over this trip? Think you can bear fruit on your own?
Reminder – packing night tomorrow – Tuesday June 15 @ CB sanctuary 7:00 pm – see you all there. Please join us in a time of prayer and commissioning.
Hi i’m just wondering if you are going to have a mission trip to Haiti the summer of 2011 if so how old do i have to be inorder to go on the trip?
