Being adopted by a family at my home church in college changed my life. I was 12 hours from home and new no one, and couldn't go home for Thanksgiving and Easter. Instead I was invited into my family's home for special holidays, Sunday dinners, and welcomed back to school with assorted school supplies (the husband works at Walmart ;0) My homeschooling family prayed for me daily as part of the curriculum and their kids grew up and were their at my college graduation, and were part of my wedding. I even attended their son's homeschool HS graduation. They have since adopted my husband into their family and are on our team of ministry partners as we serve now with Cru in Miami. This is such an amazing opportunity! I am looking forward to adopting college students now myself.
