This past month XB Youth made a visit to Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, a faith-based nonprofit organization that provides safe, stable, homes for boys and girls who have been neglected, misdirected, abandoned, abused, or caught up in family turmoil. The focus they’ve decided to take is due to the significant impact the Haiti missions trip had in the lives of some our youth this past summer. A trip that consisted of sharing the love of Christ in tangible ways to an orphanage in Mirebalais.
James 1:27 : “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.”
XB Youth, along with another Miami Youth group, were able to spend the evening in community with the kids living there. An evening that consisted of basketball, school yard games, popcorn, cotton candy & ended the night with a movie. Some of our kids were impacted when they saw two orphans (brother & sister) embracing each other the entire time and hearing the older brother say, “I have to keep her safe”. Others just couldn’t believe how many kids lived there.
If you’re a parent with middle or high school kids, the leadership team wants to invite you to bring them Friday nights in Building C at our Pinecrest location from 7:00-9:30pm and take part of the XB Youth revolution!! For more information contact Eric Isaac.
