:: the vision

crossbridge’s real desire is to see the true ramifications of the “gospel” in people’s lives, bidding them to seek a more equal and just Miami. If you’ve lived in Miami for any length of time you know the city is not what it ought to be. So our existence is wrapped around just that; a body of people that want to usher inside-out change (spiritual, social and cultural) into every thread that makes Miami this woven nest of mixed cultures and blended tribes.

The life-blood of crossbridge are the community groups that meet throughout each neighborhood (Dadeland, South Miami, Pinecrest, Kendall, Downtown, and new ones are always starting up) then gather weekly to share how the kingdom of God has become a reality in their lives. Our vision is to be the church, not simply attend it.

:: our story

crossbridge church miami :: was birthed out of a convergence of desires placed by God in the hearts of Immanuel Presbyterian Church (MIA), Redeemer Presbyterian Church (NYC) and the Assis family.

Things went down kind of like this ::
In 2005 IPC became concerned about not reaching their city and consulted with RPC’s church-planting Director Terry Gyger (who happens to be IPC’s founding pastor) about revitalizing the existing church. RPC suggested a “church replant,” and on November of 2006 a formal agreement between IPC and RPC was established to join efforts and see a new church come into existence.

Meanwhile the Assis family began to feel God’s calling to church-plant in Miami.  In a RPC meeting at a hotel in the city of São Paulo (BRA), Terry Gyger challenged Felipe to check out the opportunity to lead the proposed partnership that later would become crossbridge church miami.  The conversation between the Assis family, IPC and RPC began knowing that there were still many questions to be answered… fast-forward 18 months…,  God worked out all the necessary details and in January of 2008 the Assis family arrived in Miami to plant crossbridge church miami.

On Sunday, September 14th, 2008 crossbridge launched.
